They are often referred to as Medigap Plans as they help fill the coverage gaps left by Original Medicare. There are 10 types of Medigap plans available from private insurance companies.

Medicare Part D plans provide coverage for prescription medication. Enrolling in a Medicare Prescription Drug plan can help make your prescribed medications costs more affordable. Part D coverage is only available through a standalone Prescription Drug plan or a Medicare Advantage plan with Part D included.
